NFL Special: Preview of Division Playoffs

Published by thetradersarena at 1:05 pm under Football Edit This

As a special, here is a preview of the games this weekend in the NFL Division Playoffs:

Philadelphia Eagles @ NY Giants: This should be a great game, matching up two fierce NFC East rivals. They each won one game this year against their opponent (going 1-1). These games have gone down to the wire each time and I wouldn’t be surprised to see an overtime matchup in this one. Contrary to popular belief, their can be no ties if it goes to overtime. (That’s a shot at you, Mr. McNabb.) Brandon Jacobs may play in this game, and if he does, the Giants would have a much better chance having 3 fresh backs for the game instead of 2. Lets see if the other Manning brother can make it by and make it to the super bowl again. I do think the Giants will make it to the Super Bowl, but hey, I am a Giants fan.

Cardinals @ Carolina Panthers: The Cardinals will try to pass pass pass with Krut Warner, but Boldin did get injured during the last game. If he plays, he can make a huge difference. The Panthers surprised many and showed they can compete as they played the Giants down to the wire in an OT loss only a few weeks ago. I think the Cardinals can pull this out if their defense shows up for once, but I do think that the Panthers will win this game. I am excited to see a rematch of the Giants and Panthers. I remember staying up for that OT game weeks ago, and it was a great game and very exciting to watch.

Baltimore Ravens @ Tennessee Titans: The Ravens have surprised all led by rookie QB Joe Flacco. They have dominated over the past few weeks, beating the Cowboys, and last week destroyed the Dolphins. They have a great chance to oust Tennessee, the top seed in the AFC. The Titans have been underestimated the whole year, many thinking they could not keep up their 10-0 start, but they proved otherwise and became the #1 seed when they defeated the Steelers weeks ago.

San Diego Chargers @ Pittsburgh Steelers: San Diego barely made it to the playoffs, with a bit of luck, going 8-8 and having the Broncos screw up in the last few weeks of the season. Rivers and the Chargers were with out LaDainian Tomlinson, but Darren Sproles and all 170 pounds of him showed up and defeated the Colts. The game was down to the wire but they pulled it out after the Colts had 3 penalties in a row that resulted in consecutive first downs. They are a darkhorse to win the game. The Steelers are worrying about QB Ben Roethlisberger’s health, as he suffered a concussion in their last game. He has said he is fine and will be 100%, but this is not his first concussion. I think the Steelers will pull it out either way, but the game should be exciting.

My picks:

Giants over Eagles

Panthers over Cardinals

Ravens over Titans

Steelers over Chargers
