How about them Blue Jays. They just keep on winning games, espcially when the doctor's on the mound. Roy Halladay is now 7-1 with a 2.95 era after tuesdays game against the New York Yankees. The Jays Ace went the distance picking up his 41st career complete game. He also was up against former Blue Jay starter A.J Burnett. Who basically took the greedy way out of the Jays oraganization. Signing a 78 million dollar contract with one of Blue Jays biggest rivals The New York Yankee's. I guess tonights game had a little bad karma for A.J Burnett considering he only had three strikeouts with 7 innings and 2/3rds pitched. He allowed 5 runs on seven hits. Three of those hits came from blue jay Scott Rolen, who in his career was hitless against A.J. Burnett. It was a big game for Scott Rolen as he broke his slump against Burnett and he batted in the Jays game winning runs to win the game. Maybe it wasnt bad karma, maybe it was simply the jays dominating any team that stands in there way as they lead the majors with the most wins. A lot of credit can go to guys like Roy Halladay an inspirational leader of example for the Jays pitching staff. Adam Lind who's is hitting with power. Marco Scutaro Who's hitting consistant in the lead off spot. Barajas who has been playing like an all star catcher. Arran Hill who is having a career year leading the majors with 56 hits. There are a lot more players stepping it up this year but i think Cito Gaston deserves most of the credit. His hitting expertise has excelled the Blue Jays roster to one of the, if not the best hitting teams in MLB so far. Jays fans look like they have interesting season ahead of them. Hopfully they can keep up this type of play and get another chance at the world series.

Well, at the time I wrote this, Kawakami wasn't a Brave yet, nor is Lowe. At that time, those were the people on the depth chart. Sure I think they will get Lowe, and you can sub them in there for them definitely.

I think they may get Dunn, but Dunn may want to sign a 1 year deal, and become a FA next year, in order to be a top hitter in a weaker market (pretty much only Matt Holliday).

Ummm... I do agree with everything that you said, but you might want to update your 09 starters.... I'd add Kawakami and probably Lowe to the starting rotation, and take out Jo Jo and Morton. I also believe that we will sign Adam Dunn. If the Rays got Burrel for 2/16, then we should be able to get Dunn for the amazingly low price of like 3/33 with a 4th yr option or something like that. Wren's gonna step up in a couple of weeks and all of the sudden we'll look like contenders.

Hey bud, nice site you got there. I just put your blog on my list, thanks for putting me on yours. Could you edit it to be: The Traders Arena on your list? Thanks

As for the trade, I think that the Giants value Cain more than teams value him. I do think if he was on a team with some hitters, he would have been an All Star because he pitches very deep into games and had a good ERA. No run support is something I am very familiar with from watching Johan Santana in Minnesota. I think the Brewers though would be nuts to trade Prince Fielder. I could see a deal more for J.J. Hardy since they have Alcides Escobar waiting in the wings. The Giants can definitely move Sanchez or Cain because of Bumgarner and Alderson. They would be wise to try to get a solid hitter because like you said, they have great prospects in Posey, Sandoval, and Villalona who in a few years could be a great tandem.

Hey man, good article. But hey come check out my blogsite some time at www.eastbaybaseball.today.com. I will put your link to your blog on my blogroll. If you could do the same for me, that would be great. Keep up the good work! Also, who do you think the Giants will get as far as for the corner infielder with some pop that they are looking for. Will they trade Jonathan Sanchez for a hitter or package pitcher Kevin Pucetas and another prospect for a hitter or renegotiate trading Cain to the Brewers for Prince Fielder. I would love to get Prince Fielder for 2009 and beyond, but he is do for arbitration after 2009 season and Cain is a mainstay in our rotation. So Cain for Fielder straight up, I am not too sure about if I am the Giants, especially with Sandoval most likely manning first base eventually and prospects like Ishikiawa and Villalona in their system.
